Endurance and challenge!

The UCI Cross-country Word Cup is a mass start race held over undulating circuits with technical descents, forest roads, rocky paths and obstacles which riders must complete 5 to 7 times. The Elite racing times, for men and women, vary from 1h 30 minutes to 1h 45 minutes.To add excitement to the race this season, Mont-Sainte-Anne’s loop course will stretch over a length of 4 km and will include a rock garden and as well as a pumptrack!

 

Riders to watch

Annika Langvad, Denmark | UCI Rank: 1

Needless to say, Annika Langvad is having a stellar season. The Danish mountainbiker who had to pull out from 2012 Olympic Games is in top shape, she did win the prestigious UCI mountain bike cross-country World Championship title in July. With 2 World Cup victories under her belt this season, she currently ranks first on the World Cup circuit.

Jenny Rissveds, Sweden | UCI Rank: 5

U23 World Cup Champion in 2015, with 7 World Cup victory and a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championship in the U23 category, the Sweden cyclist can impress!

Catharine Pendrel, Canada | UCI Rank: 7

Pendrel was the world champion in cross-country mountain biking in 2011 and 2014. She is also the current reigning Commonwealth Games champion. Additionally, Pendrel is the 2010 World Cup Champion as well as the winner of the 2012 UCI World Cup Series with many wins in Mont-Sainte-Anne.

Nino Schurter, Switzerland | UCI Rank: 1

Pendrel was the world champion in cross-country mountain biking in 2011 and 2014. She is also the current reigning Commonwealth Games champion. Additionally, Pendrel is the 2010 World Cup Champion as well as the winner of the 2012 UCI World Cup Series with many wins in Mont-Sainte-Anne.

Julien Absalon, France | UCI Rank: 2

Widely regarded as the greatest in this discipline, he won consecutive gold medals at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. He has also won a record of 31 victories in the World Cup and was six times winner on the circuit.

Maxime Marotte, France | UCI Rank: 3

Maxime Marotte has great results since the beginning of the 2016 season considered like the best season of his carrer. Third in the ranking, Marotte is ready for Olympic games in Rio.
